Please note: This PDF E-Book has been optimized for the best viewing experience on your computer monitor. The resolution and layout are not optimal for premium book printing. 1) How The PDF Is Formatted

The Molly The Owl Children's E-Book has been formatted as full page SPREADS. This means that each viewable page of the PDF is one SPREAD of the book. (You'll recognize this on the first viewable page of the PDF, which shows the front and back of the book.)back to top

2) How To Print On Your Home Computer

IF YOU INTEND TO CONSTRUCT A MIN-BOOK FROM THE PRINTS PRINT THEM SINGLE SIDED, NOT TWO SIDED (OR BACK TO BACK)! As you'll see later in the instructions for assembly, printing two sided will not allow you to put it together.

Recommended Program For Printing: To print on your home computer we recommend opening and printing using the program Adobe Acrobat Reader®, or the full version, called Adobe Acrobat®. If you are using an alternate program to read PDF files, the settings we indicate below may also apply.

Recommended Paper Size: We recommend printing on standard letter sized paper (8.5" x 11") for best results.

Printer Settings: There are two settings that will ensure correct printing, and avoid any unintended cropping of the pages:

Here is a preview of what the finished product will look like, printed correctly.

3) How To Assemble A Mini-Molly Booklet From Your Print

As mentioned in the print section above, IF YOU INTEND TO CONSTRUCT A MIN-BOOK FROM THE PRINTS PRINT THEM SINGLE SIDED, NOT TWO SIDED (OR BACK TO BACK)! As you'll see below in the instructions for assembly, printing two sided will not allow you to put it together.

If you wish to assemble your personal print into a book, the finished product will be a Mini-Molly Booklet, (approx. 5" square).

Here's how to assemble:

1) Once you have printed all the pages SINGLE SIDED, you'll need to trim the excess white paper from each printed sheet.

2) Next, fold each page inward along the middle seam.

3) Next, taking one pair at a time, tape or glue half of the backs of consecutive pages to each other. As you progress, you'll notice you are creating an "accordion."

Merge Backs

4) Finally, when you have glued or taped all of the pages, you will have a large "accordion star" shape. Simply swing the back cover page around so that the cover and back cover images are the outsides of your book. Congratulations, you have just created your very own Mini-Molly Book!

4) Printing At Kinkos® (Or Other Print-On-Demand Printer)

Please note: The LEGAL COPYRIGHT allows for PERSONAL printing, but not numerous prints for distribution. Please respect the efforts of all those who worked hard to create this E-Book. If you would like to share multiple copies of Molly The Owl we invite you to order additional E-Books or Hardcover versions, both available at www.mollytheowlbooks.com

Although print prices vary one thing to consider is the total price of printing at Kinkos® vs ordering the physical book.

The E-Book consists of 28 PDF pages (recall each PDF page consists of one book SPREAD).
To print the 28 PDF pages (on 8.5" x 11" letter sized paper) will cost at least. $28.
(The average price for one color letter sized page is $1)

Alternately, you could order the full color physical book for $21 + shipping and handling, at www.mollytheowlbooks.com
Not only is this option a better value but the images are twice as large, the resolution higher quality, and the paper a thicker stock, than what you'll get printed at Kinkos®!
Each spread of the physical book is a huge 18" x 9" (each single page 9" x 9").

If you decide to pursue Kinkos® or other on-demand printer simply bring them the file "MTO_ChildrensEBook.pdf" on a disc or USB Flash Stick and instruct them to print the PDF on LETTER SIZED PAPER, in the LANDSCAPE orientation. This will produce the 28 page printed document.
